Jeffrey B. Sussman David B. Selig Gil Ross
Jason M. Kroot Erron H. Fisher
Among the youngest members ever chosen in Who's Who In American Law, Mr. Kroot has quickly distinguished himself as one of the outstanding young trial lawyers in the City of Chicago. In just his second year of practice, Mr. Kroot (and co-counsel David B. Selig) obtained a 16.3 million dollar verdict in a medical malpractice action, a record verdict of its type in the Circuit Court of Cook County. Since then, Mr. Kroot has continued to attain sensational results for his clients, now in excess of $25 million dollars. Mr. Kroot's primary areas of practice are medical malpractice, wrongful death, and personal injury.
Prior to joining the law firm of Sussman Selig & Ross in 1999, Mr. Kroot worked as a law clerk for another prominent plaintiff's firm in Chicago. While gaining valuable experience as a law clerk on complex tort cases, Mr. Kroot studied as a full-time law student at Chicago-Kent College of Law. There, Mr. Kroot's skills as a talented advocate were identified when he was invited to join the prestigious Chicago-Kent National ATLA Trial Team. While competing in the Midwest Region, Mr. Kroot and his partner received the highest score of any team in the competition.
Within the Chicago legal community, Mr. Kroot has developed a reputation as an exceptionally hard working, talented and creative litigator. These attributes have enabled Mr. Kroot to achieve extraordinary results, often against seemingly insurmountable odds. In 2006, Mr. Kroot was invited, once again, to join the Chicago-Kent National ATLA Trial Team, this time as an Assistant Coach, where he instructs law students in the art and science of trial advocacy. Also in 2006, Mr. Kroot was appointed Co-Chair of the Chicago Bar Association Trial Techniques Committee, Young Lawyers Division.
